They might want animal, plant or landscape tattoos, which often have symbolic value as well. For instance, there is a popular tiger trend if you want to feel big and bold. 

Alternatively, butterfly and bird tattoos are back in fashion, symbolising freedom, new beginnings, and transformation. 

Patchwork tattoos

Another popular choice this year is to opt for a patchwork of seemingly random tattoos on your arm, instead of going for a cohesive sleeve design. 

This is intended to look like a collection of stickers, with each tattoo being small and delicate. 

The idea is that it represents different parts of the person, while it is also a cost-effective choice as they can get small ones added whenever they want.

Dotwork tattoos

Those who want to have their tattoos last longer are increasingly choosing dotwork ones. Though they are typically more expensive, the added cost is not putting customers off, as they are tempted by the intricate designs and bold images.

These tattoos look particularly impressive, adding texture and shading to the pieces of art.

Finger tattoos

Finger tattoos are also a good choice these days, as lots of people like to use their tattoos as permanent items of jewellery. Therefore, a tattoo on the ring finger is always a hit, particularly among guys who don’t see themselves wearing a traditional wedding ring. 

Hailey Bieber famously got her husband, Justin Bieber’s, initials tattooed on to her ring finger, before she added tiny stars, moons, diamonds and flowers to her other hand. Therefore, it is likely that other young women will soon follow suit with this trend of getting micro tattoos on the hand. 

The wrist is also a popular area, as it is a great place for delicate pictures while enabling the person to make a statement because everyone will be able to see it.
